Buddy Tops review AND GIVEAWAY!

I noticed Buddy Tops was following me on twitter, so I shot them a quick DM because these hats are ADORABLE! Not only do they stand for characteristics that hopefully we all want to instill in our children AND they are too cute!

They sent me TWO hats...one for Zealand and one for Kingsley. I love when sponsors do that!!

Kingsley got:

Benny the persevering Bunny:

Benny the bunny is your partner who knows that getting good grades is about studying hard and doing your homework. So the next time you're stuck on a puzzle or a school assignment, put her on and let her perseverance help you!

And Zealand got:

Lilly the Dalmatian loves everyone’s uniqueness!:

Lilly was always a tiny bit different from the other pups. She has spots where others don't, her ears are of different colors, and she loves to run around and play while others just want to nap. To her, everyone's an individual and great in their own ways!

You've heard of the old saying about wearing multiple hats? I think this is a great way to help harmonize the positive attributes you want your children to have.....and they secretly look cute too!

Wanna buy one? They are 20% off right now!!

Home Sweet Home

After a long yet very fulfilling week of visiting my family in Tampa....we are home.

Zealand said his 1st 3 word sentence..." I eat cheese" A man after my own heart:)
and
Kingsley got her 1st tooth! (FINALLY!)

Presents come and go....but to be a part of my children growing up and to be able to stay at home with them and witness all the things that life has in store for them is the GREATEST gift of all.

I hope everyone got their "memory" this year, whether you celebrate Hanukkah, Christmas or Kwanza.

I can't wait to see what the new year brings, (I'm sure another one of my failed resolutions....) new jobs, new home in a new state!

The saddest story ever!

I felt compelled to tell you this story that I borrowed from Kristie's Notes. I think, this might be one of the saddest stories I have ever heard. I cannot fathom her grief. I think, personally, I would be ANGRY that I didn't die too. Christian believes that this will be her calling.....to ensure that all homes are MADE to have smoke alarms. I hope she finds the peace that only God can give her, in this tragic, tragic loss.

Please keep Amanda and her family in your prayers and PLEASE take a minute to check all of your smoke alarms.

Grab your tissues.....

At 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning, an old friend of mine lost her home, her belongings, her husband, her 4 year old son and her 8 month old daughter to a fire. She was saved by a neighbor who put a ladder up to her bedroom window. Her 12 year old step daughter also made it out on her own. The neighbors tried to put a ladder up to the children's window, where their father was trying to save them, but were unable to due to the smoke and flames. The fire department was able to remove her husband and children from the home within 10 minutes of arriving, but as I already mentioned, it was too late.

I've been having a hard time keeping my eyes dry for the last couple days. I know her story and this isn't the first time I've cried for her. When we were in high school, I remember going to the funeral home for visitation for her mother who passed away. I cried again for her at her wedding where they had a rose and picture of her mother set up front with the thought that her mother was smiling down on her wedding from heaven. At those times I couldn't imagine going through life and getting married without my mom by my side. Now I couldn't imagine the rest of my life without my husband by my side and watching my children grow.

This friend, Amanda, is only 27 and has suffered unimaginable loss. She could use a lot of prayers right now and, because she has lost everything, she is in great need of financial support as well. I don't have a very large reach on my little blog, so I was hoping that some of you could help me spread the word by blogging about this as well.

Her work place has set up the 'Buckland Family Trust Fund' at the Eastern Michigan Bank, but they are also excepting donations, for those who cannot make it to the bank, at the following address:

Ullenbruch's Flower Shop
C/O Amanda Buckland
1839 Lapeer Ave
Port Huron, MI 48060

Again, I know this time of year is super busy and times are tight, but if you can please help spread the word and/or send a donation-no matter how small, every little bit helps. Of course, if you don't have the means to help in either of those ways right now, prayers are greatly appreciated! :-)

Thank you to everyone who has expressed their condolences already and to those of you who have been praying for Amanda and her daughter. I will be sure to pass on your thoughts and prayers to Amanda when I see her at her family's funeral tomorrow. (Typing 'family funeral' is not easy! Phew!)

*I also want to send out a safety reminder to anyone who reads this. Make sure you have smoke detectors installed in your house and that you change the batteries twice a year. (The recommended times to change them is when you change yours clocks for daylight savings time.)

**If you would like to read more about this horrible tragedy, you can do so here.

Baby Blessings Bamboozle Diaper review AND GIVEAWAY!

Tracey at Baby Blessings (which is based only ONE hour from my home) agreed to let me review the Bamboozle diaper she sells! If you read my blog or have caught one of my almost 17,000 tweets (addicted much?) you know, we have had some rash issues. I started feverishly looking at organic materials to diaper in and thus found Baby Blessings and the Bamboozle, which is bamboo, which is anti-bacterial!

Once it arrived, I couldn't wait to use it! BUT.....I had to, because we were still in our sposie trial week with antibiotic rash cream. Literally as soon as we ran out of sposies, she slept her 1st night in this diaper. It is so soft, but not in a velour like way, more like a bathrobe fuzzy feeling way. I covered it with an essential baby cover and put her down. I should have prefaced with the fact that Kingsley can sleep. Like 16 hours. Our first time with the diaper at night, didn't fail.....but I didn't let it. When I went in to nurse her at 2 am, I stuck a finger in and it was already SOAKED. Not the cover but the diaper was well wet. I decided to change her. I had only pre-washed the bamboo 3 times. I didn't give in and wanted to give the diaper, Baby Blessings and YOU a fair report. So, last night we tried again. THIS time, I put a microfiber insert under the bamboozle flap again covering with the essential baby. Having now been washed 6 times, this morning she was dry! Oh, and she slept from 6pm till 10am!

The Bamboozle which is made by Tots Bots in Scotland is a 4 layer bamboo fitted diaper. This diaper offers 2 sizes taking your baby from 5 lbs to 35! It has a sewn-in adjustable doubler and they recommend 10 washes to reach maximum absorbency. Line drying will always give your diapers a longer life.

Baby Blessings in an online shop featuring natural products from Fuzzi Bunz and Bummis to Ameda, Green Earth and Sun and Earth. What Florida based store wouldn't also carry Swim diapers?! Pick up a Swimmi while you're there:)
It's a relatively small store, but it has meaning and a good feeling behind brand loyalty. You can tell that she puts up products and brands that she stands behind, loves and uses!

Help a mom out and check out her store.....

because she is helping YOU out by giving away a Bamboozle diaper!

It's Hip Hop, Baby! Review and GIVEAWAY!!

I was a sent an It's Hip Hop, Baby! CD and DVD after contacting the company through twitter and telling them HOW much Zealand loved music! The minute we received the package, I tore through it and put in the DVD. Zealand was in a trance for 20 minutes. He didn't really participate because he was so transfixed on these children dancing and singing all over the TV, the first time! The 2nd time (back to back being played, by request) he danced ALL over the family room! Both the CD and the DVD that was sent have GREAT songs like: Head Shoulders Knees & Toes, If you're Happy and You Know It and Hip Hop Alphabet! These songs are geared toward getting your toddler on their feet, moving and grooving and (gasp) exercising! These have great beats, encouraging repetition and rhyme, following instructions and dance and movement.
The children look like they really are having fun!

The story of Hope......

This is a story about Hope Witsell. This is a story of hope for humanity. Below you will read a story FAR more complex than a girl who takes a picture of her boobs. Boobs? What is the fuss all about? People make a living showing their boobs....it is LEGAL during Mardi Gras and don't get me started on Fantasy Fest in the Keys.
The issue is complex yet it is so easy.....love your children NO MATTER WHAT.
I've flashed for a beer or two and it doesn't matter how old I was, I am still worthy, I am still loved and I am still "me". I hope you get out of this story, the same message I got. And if you didn't you are no better than the scared and hostile villagers who tried to attack Shrek or the Beast.....who, we all know, ended up being the "good guy".
So really, why are people (possibly you) so scared and hostile, for no reason?

Here is the story:
Taken and written beautifully by Sylvia's problem

Look, like I said on Twitter (where I heard about this tragedy via Kate Bornstein), this story is so enraging and depressing that I’m actually not even feeling the rage and depression, I’m kind of numb, so, make the choice advisedly whether or not to read on.

Hope Witsell was just beginning the journey from child to teen. The middle-school student had a tight-knit group of friends, the requisite poster of “Twilight” heartthrob Robert Pattinson and big plans to become a landscaper when she grew up.

But one impetuous move robbed Hope of her childhood, and eventually, her life. The 13-year-old Florida girl sent a topless photo of herself to a boy in hope of gaining his attention. Instead, she got the attention of her school, as well as the high school nearby.

So, here in the lede we discover that it was the showing of her boobs to a boy that — let’s look at that one more time in full — “robbed Hope of her childhood, and eventually, her life.”

Does she get the blame just once? No, no, let’s go down a few more paragraphs.

But Hope got involved in a dangerous, all-too-typical teen game. In June, at the end of her seventh-grade year at Beth Shields Middle School, she sent a picture of her exposed breasts to a boy she liked. It’s an act that is becoming more and more commonplace among teens (a poll recently showed some 20 percent of teens admitting they’ve sent nude pictures of themselves over cell phones).

She got INVOLVED in a DANGEROUS GAME. She gave a boy a picture of her boobs, you see. And that was the dangerous act.

It wasn’t the bullying of other students that put her in danger. (“Friends told the St. Petersburg Times, which originally chronicled Hope’s story, that they literally surrounded Hope as she walked the hallways while other students shouted ‘whore’ and ’slut’ at her.)

It wasn’t the school administrators who responded to this abuse by punishing and further publicly shaming HER. (“Shortly after the school year ended, school officials caught wind of the hubbub surrounding Hope’s cell phone photo. They contacted the Witsells and told them Hope would be suspended for the first week of the next school year.”)

It wasn’t the parents who punished her even more, taking her away from her support network and the things she loved to do, after the school administrators informed them of what had been happening to their daughter and how they were planning to make it worse for her. (“Donna Witsell told Vieira that she and her husband practiced tough love on Hope, grounding her for the summer and suspending her cell phone and computer privileges.”)

It wasn’t the adults at the school again who were more interested in covering their asses against litigation with a written record than actually supporting a suicidally depressed child. (“On Sept. 11, Hope met with school counselors, who noticed cuts on Hope’s leg they believed to be self-inflicted. They had her sign a ‘no-harm contract,’ in which she promised to talk to an adult if she felt the urge to hurt herself. But [...] the school didn’t inform Hope’s parents of the contract.”)

Of course it wasn’t a slut-shaming, woman-hating, sex-hating culture that divides young women into “good” (virginal) and “bad” (fallen) and allowed a 13-year-old girl to believe that she had ruined her life forever by showing a boy her tits.

No, it was her “impetuous move” and somehow also the dangers of the INTERNET (even though the internet was not involved, except in that her internet access, probably one of her major sources of social support, was taken away by her “churchgoing family” as a punishment for an act that they had no goddamn fucking idea what it even was or what technology it used).

["Internet safety expert" Parry] Aftab, who held Donna Witsell’s hand throughout the trying TODAY interview, told Vieira it’s often upstanding children growing up in good homes who have the biggest propensity to feel guilt over their sexual actions, and most feel the stings of the bullying that comes afterward.

“Good kids are the ones this is happening to; Jesse was a great kid, and now we have Hope,” she said. “Good kids; they’re the ones who are committing suicide when a picture like this gets out.”

Why are they doing that, those good girls? Why are they killing themselves?

Parents, teachers, administrators, pastors, bullies, slut-shamers, fools, woman-haters, hypocrites, tell me why YOU think they are killing themselves. Do you know? Do you know why Hope Witsell hanged herself? Do you know why she thought she had no future?

It wasn’t because she made a momentary, impulsive expression of her barely-adolescent sexuality (or gave in to peer pressure from boys who felt that her body was public domain; if the latter, that is just another horrible thing to add to this horrible thing, but either way it was not because she took a picture of her boobs). It wasn’t because of a media-manufactured techno-trend. It wasn’t the internet. It was not that, as this putrid “news” article disgustingly asserts, “The downward spiral of Hope’s life was unstoppable.”

If everyone I know who had a picture of their boobs on the internet before their 18th birthday killed themselves, I’d have a lot of dead friends. I wouldn’t be around to remember them, though, since I’d be dead too.

It wasn’t SEXTING.

It was you, adults, all the adults in her life. The high school assholes too, but they’re in high school. You’re adults. She was thirteen years old and she was driven to her grave for nothing and there was nothing inevitable about this.

And you should understand that. You should go to her grave as a penitent every day of your lives, all of you, like Leontes and Claudio, and make of yourselves a lesson for others. This is the real world, so you won’t get the kind of results that Leontes and Claudio did. She’s never coming back.

You should just do it because it’s the right thing to do. Because it is, honestly, the least you can do. Because she wasn’t killed by this year’s sexy scary cyber-youth-trend. You could have saved her if you hadn’t ALL been so busy reinforcing values that are killing our daughters.

Stop killing our daughters. Stop killing our daughters. Stop killing our daughters. Stop killing our daughters. Stop killing our daughters.

Stop.

Kissaluvs antibacterial diaper pail liner review AND GIVEAWAY!

Kissaluvs sent me their pail liner because you KNOW what kind of bacteria issues we have had. I never thought about sanitizing the pail, I mean I wash it out, but the BACTERIA could have been living in the pail!!! This pail liner is HUGE! 30'' x 24"! It holds WAY more than I need it to, and I have 2 in diapers and sometimes, do my loads on the third day. It can hold up to 3 dozen diapers! I had been using either nothing or using a pillow case in my foot released Cosco diaper pail. This pail liner is made with 100% PUL which for those of you that don't know exactly what that is: Polyurethane laminate. This bag is made in the USA (love that!) and is non-wicking, bacteris-free and ODOR-CONTROLLING. Yes, I have had a head cold for a week now but when I say that it really holds in the odor, I mean it. Since Kingsley was in sposies for the week, I held back on laundry because we had enough to go around for Zealand for quite a few days. I think we went 4 or maybe 5 days with diapers and I could not smell a thing. (Well, I did smell the sposies in the garbage can...yuck-o!) the special antibacterial effect lets the diapers sit around for an extra day or so without collecting the gunk. For only $14.95, I highly suggest you grab one, it will be the Align CenterONLY liner you will ever have to buy....unless you want to of them;)

Without further adieu....I know you want one!

PUR Flavor options Pitcher Review and Giveaway!

I was sent a PUR Flavor Options water pitcher after contacting their PR team and telling them how much I hate water. Really. I do. I am addicted to Diet Coke and the number one ingredient just so happens to be water. I know it is bad. There are worse things that I could be doing to my body than drinking Diet Coke, right? The pitcher came quick with a bonus flavor! We were sent Grape and Raspberry. We filled the pitcher and waited for it to chill. (Now, I like ice in my water but Christian thinks the ice tastes bad and therefore makes our drinks taste bad....) We have been using in for 3 months now and here are our pros and cons.

Pros: I personally think the water tastes crisper, than our "other" pitcher. I love the ability to add flavor, I actually think it tastes similar to Kool Aid. I love that with a few clicks, the water is turned into something my kids will actually drink! There is a light on the lid that lets you know when it is time to change the filter. I like how it is push "to taste", so I like 3 pushes, and Christian likes 4.

Cons: You have to take the entire lid off to fill the pitcher with water. If you don't pour exactly right, some of the flavoring stays in the little pouch area, and the next time you go to pour "just" water, it will taste flavored, when you don't want it to.

Here is some information straight from PUR:

PUR: Removes More Contaminants

· Atrazine

o PUR is the only leading pitcher certified by NSF to claim reduction of atrazine, removing 94%.

o According to The New York Times, atrazine – which has been linked to birth defects and other health issues – may be dangerous at lower concentrations than what is currently allowed by the EPA.

· Pharmaceuticals

o PUR is the only leading pitcher to claim a reduction of pharmaceuticals in tap water – 94% for PUR pitchers and 99% for PUR faucet mounts.

· Microbial cysts

o Microbial cysts can cause intestinal illnesses such as diarreah and nausea.

o PUR is the only leading pitcher on the market that is certified to reduce microbial cysts by 99.9%.

· Heavy Metals

o The EPA estimates that approximately 20% of Americans’ lead exposure is attributable to tap water.

o PUR filters remove 98% of lead as well as other metals such as mercury and copper.

· Chlorine & Taste

o Some municipalities rely on “chlorine flushes” to treat their water supplies, e.g., Washington, D.C., affecting the taste of the water.

o PUR filters remove the taste and odor of chlorine from tap water. In addition, PUR faucet mounts have an exclusive third stage that filters water over a bed of minerals for a crisp, clean taste.

About PUR Water Filtration

  • Environment & Money: Switching from bottled water to filtered and a reusable bottle can eliminate up to 3,200 plastic bottles and save one person up to $600 annually.
  • Health: PUR filters are certified to reduce many contaminants, including 98% of lead, 99.9% of microbial cysts, 99% of pharmaceuticals and 94% of the weed killer atrazine.
  • Philanthropy: With each purchase of a PUR filter, a donation is made to Children’s Safe Drinking Water which has, to date, provided over 1.5 billion liters of clean water to needy children and their families around the world.

About PUR Flavor Options

o PUR Flavor Options is the first and only filter for tap water that lets you add a touch of sugar-free, calorie-free fruit flavoring to your water.

o PUR Flavor Options was named “Household Product of the Year” by Product of the Year USA in January 2009 and comes in raspberry, lemon, grape and strawberry.

Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil review and GIVEAWAY

I stumbled across coconut oil a few weeks back, when I was looking for ways to treat Kingsley's supposed yeast rash. I was amazed at how many different containers it came in at the Health store. Large glass jars down to itty bitty plastic tubs. It was in the health food aisle as well as the cosmetics aisle. All, I knew at the time was it had an anti-fungal agent and would help with the yeast rash. Well, turns out it wasn't a yeast rash, and so, it did not help BUT....it really did not hinder either and it is organic after all. I actually had my mom use it as make-up remover when she was in town! Less, than 2 weeks after buying a small tub for $7.99 I saw tweets by @troptraditions for bloggers and reviews. I immediately responded, thinking, there had to be much more I could do with it, than what I had already done.

I received a huge glass quart container of Tropical Traditions to review and couldn't wait to start cooking...well, I mean, I was excited to cook with it, not that I like cooking or anything. So, I got out chicken tenderloins and Vigo breading. I realized we were out of eggs, which I normally dip the c hicken in before the breading. I decided to dip the chicken in the coconut oil before the breading and then fry the chicken in coconut oil as well! There are many advantages to cooking with coconut oil, that I did not know, like the fact that is has was less calories than vegetable or olive oil. The fat content in coconut oil also turns to energy instead of lingering to the heart or arteries. It is chalked full of vitamins and minerals too!

Even with my head cold, I could smell the coconut. Christian worried that it might taste too coconutty and he wouldn't like it....I was worried too. Let me tell you, that they were delicious. They did not taste like coconut at all actually, but did give the chicken a bit of a sweeter taste. Zealand ate two whole chicken tenderloins and there wasn't any leftovers for Kingsley today. Then tonight, Christian made beef cube steaks and prepared them with flour instead of Vigo but used the coconut oil with dinner tonight too! All on his own, he liked it so much.

On the site Organic Facts I read the following: Coconut oil has been known to help with irritable bowel syndrome due to its high anti microbial properties, it is also good on for pancreatitis and weight loss. It as been known to strengthen the immune system and aid in healing and infections. Diabetes, bones and teeth have all seen an improvement by using coconut oil.

This is more than a one use product. And now I am so glad, I was sent such a huge bottle!

Planet Wise wetbag and Sugar Dipes Review and Giveaway CLOSED

Sugar Dipes an online cloth diaper store sent me a small Planet wise wet bag after we "met" on twitter. I do, have 2 other bags, 1 being a Wet Happened that I picked up at Target. I have found that it not only holds stench but it does not stay dry! I have had leaks through my bag! I also have a bag from Bumkins, it is not lined with PUL and is merely just a bag...no wet part about it!

I was anxious to see how small, the small bag was. I was pleasantly surprised that it would in fact be the perfect size for our family. When we travel, I only bring 2 diapers as changes and I rarely have to change both babies on a trip out and about. On Tuesdays, I do however change both babies when we are at a breastfeeding mom group. There is plenty of room and we have Zealand's speech therapy immediately following, so that puts us out of the house from about 11-2:30. I put them directly down for naps the moment we walk in the door at 2:30, so a mid day diaper change is a must, if I want them to last till 4ish when Christian gets home and they inevitably wake up.
2 diapers fit perfectly and to be honest, I could probably fit 4!

I love the prints that Planet wise offers. I love the size options. I love the way I feel comfortable knowing I can just throw it in the diaper bag and not worry about any moistness leaking through because of their seam sealing
I love how cute Sugar Dipes store is and all the great stuff she has to offer too!
(Now if I can only talk her into carrying Drybees fleece heehee)

She will be carrying Smartipants soon on top of already carrying Rumparooz and Fuzzi Bunz. She has Softbums (that I have been dying to try) as well as knickernappies and Happy Heiny!

The shop is small but it does pack a punch of some great products. I think once she gets up and running, she knows what products are the right ones to carry. Stop in, grab an insert or a diaper and help a mama out. It is the right thing to do, to help the small stores!

Tanya Pecora Review and Giveaway! CLOSED

I found Tanya (ezphotoinvitations.com) through google (don't you just love that invention!). I was looking for cute girly skulled themed invites. I have been searching for MONTHS and doing lots of research on what I wanted. I loved the fact that Tanya custom makes everything. You Align Centerdon't go window shopping here, you go couture shopping! You tell her what you want down to the dot and she makes it happen! I also love that I didn't have to wait to see the finished product, I didn't have to pay shipping or processing. Nope, I just sent the jpg to my local Walgreens to pick them up, in ONE hour!!!

She was awesome to work with, super easy. Just 2 emails and she had my idea done. She does everything imaginable too! She asked if I wanted cupcake toppers, bottle or chocolate bar wrappers or even a pennant. Let's talk about a one stop shop for your party needs....all we need now is a clown! (Or a pirate!)
So....Isn't my card (uh, I mean Kingsley's card) cute!?!

Tanya has offered to give YOU a design of your choice PLUS 2 graphics to match!!

Little Diva Tutu Review

Kingsley will be one on December 20th. Where did the year go? She is SUCH a snuggle bug. Well, I take that back, she is such a clingly bug. She sure has a special thing for her Mama (yep, me!) She pretty much hates the floor, unless there is food on it. She just surpassed her birth weight x3, which was my goal for her. I'm not sure where I read that, but supposedly, that is a sign of a healthy breast-fed baby. So she is a whopping 19.4 lbs and still just a teeny tiny thing.
Her nickname is Punky but Zealand calls her Kiki....so we'll see what wins :)

Her party is in just about 2 weeks in the theme of a girly pirate. I rented out the gymnastics studio, where they will have it set up for free play for the toddlers to roam. I will be bringing my own hot pink table cloths and hot pink and black balloons. I ordered pirate cups from oriental trading company and will be stuffing them with pirate necklaces, stickers and tattoos. My mom just brought me little skull candy holders, so I need to find some pink and black wrapped candy to stuff in those! I ordered a Pirate swashbuckling CD from Amazon using my swagbucks, so the gym will be filled with pirate music argh!!

Kingsley will be wearing this adorable tutu sponsored by Little Diva Tutus. She sent us the hot pink and black one, to match her hot pink with black skull leggings, I found on etsy. I will pair up this tutu with a simple black turtleneck but I had much grander plans but live in a small town, without a fabric store!

This tutu arrived in a large box (as so not to get squished) and it was just ADORABLE! The perfect amount of color! I have to say that it is a SUPER great quality for the price. I know if you are in the market for a tutu you have noticed the prices are RIDONKULOUS! Even for ugly ones!! MOST tutus on this site are just $19.99 and I think that is totally a price that anyone can afford. She has an amazing photographer and I am in love with all her pictures. (She has a shirt on one of her mannequins and when I asked about the shirt, she said it was a STICKER....and it still looked so stinkin' cute!)

And.....she has a fundraiser on her site. She donates a percentage of certain tutus to help Layla Grace and St. Jude's Hospital! Now, that is amazing. She is giving back during a time where everyone is hoarding their money.

Want to read something interesting about Melissa?? Check out her great story on her site, trust me....you will LOVE what you see!!

Christmas is approaching fast....hurry up and snag one of these for picture time. I can't think of a cuter thing for a little lady to be seen in!

Gro Baby Bio-Soakers written by:Betsy

Danielle had the good fortune to win some Gro Baby bio-soakers from Barefoot-Eco but since she does not have a diapering system in which they can be used, she has asked me to do this review. As I said before, gDiapers are our main daytime diaper. We use them with the gDiaper flushies and with gFlappers bamboo cloth inserts (made at The Nappy Shoppe).

The Gro Baby bio-soaker is a disposable, compostable insert designed to fit into their Gro Baby cloth shell but the company assured us that they would work quite well in the gDiapers. They are a little different than the flushies that I am used to- 1) They have stretchy, gathered leg casings, 2) They have a waterproof backing on them and 3) They have 2 large peel off stickies on them, one in the front and one in the back. After taking a look at these bio-soakers, I decided to try them inside my gDiaper but with the snap-in liner removed. I peeled off the covers for the stickies and applied the bio-soaker directly to my gDiaper little pant.

To put it simply- they worked great! A typical gDiaper flushie absorbs well but lasts my little soaker only about 2 hours, 3 if I’m lucky. The Gro Baby bio-soaker lasted 4 hours every time I used one! And the elastic leg casings gave me the extra confidence that we would not have a diaper blowout while out and about. The stickies on the back almost work too well! When it was time to remove them from the gpant, they held so well that some of the screen-printed washing directions came off the gpant as well! (These are not new gDiapers so the screen-printing was loosening before hand.)

I disposed of my bio-soakers in the trash as I have a temperamental septic system and have yet to begin a compost pile (must start that soon!) so I do not know how they fare as far as other disposal methods.

All in all, I loved the Gro Baby bio-soakers and need to order some before the Buy One Get One Free deals that I’ve been seeing all over the Internet end!
